Hi,
A good friend of mine has recently decided to seperate from a large law firm. He is going it on his own, and has limited knowledge of computers or IT.
He will have a receptionist, and he needs to have a safe (and backed up) place to store all of the information about his clients. He needs to have access to this all the time (remote access.. etc).
It would just be 2 lawyers and a secretary.
He was thinking of buying one cheaper computer for the secretary (also connecting it to the network, but the secretary would not need to do a lot of interaction with the network drives). He also needs a computer for himself and his partner who both need access to all the data all the time.
Does he need a server? If so, what kind?
My first though was the he should get computers with very large hard drives, and use windows xp pro, which would allow remote access, a web hosting, etc. Basically to just use a small office network.
However, does this allow for backing up each night?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
