Hello, everyone
I took some courses about some basic computer architecture and data structure, but i want to know more about servers, especially the kind of servers that save and provide vital data.
Because i'm personally interested in digital preservation, so i want to know more about data centers that can save digital data securely and servers that are capable to provide the data on Internet and update the new information to mirror servers.
i've noticed that wikimedia has many servers and saves quite some amount of data, also, they have servers in many other countries as mirrors.
And the servers they have include NFS storage servers, squid servers(?), search servers, loading balancers.
I want to know more about how to build these kinds of huge servers, including how to make some certain servers to be the squid server, loading balancers?(i still not quite know what do they do.)
Does this kind of knowledge has to be learnt through experience or through some expensive classes held by some companies?
Or are the places where i can learn about how to build this kind of huge servers?

thank you for helping me out
:)
